Aerial launch DRONES

Rotron’s FPV drones are engineered for integration with the Talon DT-150 Mothership, enabling long-range missions, distributed ISR, and precision payload delivery (0.8–2.5 kg). Each drone operates at speeds up to 120 km/h with a 25 km range from the host aircraft.

The DT-150’s advanced mesh-network radio system ensures resilient, extended communication with up to 16 Wren-5 drones, deployed via an autopilot-controlled, dual-redundant drop-rig. All systems are built in the UK using NDAA-compliant components.

Together, the DT-300 and Rotron’s FPV drones form a scalable force-multiplying solution—enhancing reach, coordination, and operational impact.

DT-150 portability

The Talon DT-150 features an innovative, tool free design, meticulously engineered to reduce weight and complexity while maximizing aerodynamic efficiency. Its rapid pack-down capability creates a compact form factor, enabling easy transport without the need for special vehicles. The lightweight flight case (33.5 KG) can easily be carried and loaded by a single person into an ordinary estate car, making deployment fast and practical. Whether launching from urban environments, challenging terrains, or even at sea, the DT-150’s versatility ensures reliable operation in virtually any setting.

DT-150

UNIQUE ROTOR HEAD

Rotron’s proprietary three-bladed rotor head system enables cyclic and collective pitch control, providing electro-mechanical stabilization and efficient lift. With ~30% fewer moving parts than conventional rotorheads and a driverless swashplate, it offers simplicity, energy efficiency, and reduced costs. Designed and tested in-house, it showcases Rotron’s expertise in metallurgy and aerodynamics.

In contrast, multi-rotors rely on rigid rotors and variable speeds, leading to higher energy use and limiting blade size due to inertia.

DT-150

EFFICIENT PROPULSION SYSTEM

A proprietary, liquid cooled electric propulsion system, accessible when the camera is deployed.

Batteries (lithium-ion), battery management system and motors are to Rotron specification, integrated by Rotron utilising a trusted, UK-based supply chain. Outstanding thermal management ensures operational efficiency. Batteries may be switched out or recharged.

DT-150

CAMERA

The TALON DT-150 features the NextVision Raptor – a lightweight, long-range dual EO-IR stabilized turret. With extended IR range and X80 EO zoom, it delivers outstanding imaging for target detection, identification, and tracking.

This integration enhances the DT-150’s performance in ISTAR, reconnaissance, and surveillance missions, making it a highly capable asset in demanding environments.

DT-150

TAIL FIN

The tail fin is a lightweight, aerodynamically refined stabiliser designed to enhance yaw stability, protect the tail rotor and improve overall flight performance. Its optimised structure reduces weight while maintaining strength and efficiency, supporting the Talon DT‑150’s precise and reliable operation across a range of flight conditions.

DT-150

REAR PROPELLER

The Talon DT‑150’s rear tail rotor features a lightweight two-blade design, optimized for precise yaw control, enhanced stability, and reduced noise. It effectively counteracts the torque produced by the main rotor, ensuring accurate heading adjustments during both hover and forward flight.
